Qatar participated in the 9th meeting of the undersecretaries of the labour ministries in the GCC countries, which was held via visual communication technology.
Qatar was represented at the meeting by Assistant Undersecretary for Expatriate Labour Affairs at the Ministry of Labour Sheikha Najwa bint Abdul Rahman bin Nasser al-Thani.
The meeting discussed the strategy of joint Gulf action in the field of manpower, which aims to advance Gulf labour markets and human resources, in addition to issues related to training citizens with the aim of raising the level of national competencies through exchanging expertise in human resource development, as well as strengthening international co-operation between the GCC countries and international organisations specialised in the labour sector.
The meeting dealt with topics related to the field of labour in GCC countries, in addition to the agenda of the next meeting of the GCC Labour Ministers Committee, which is scheduled to be held this month.
