Technology company Meta launched a new version of WhatsApp for Mac devices with improved design and new features.
CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook account that WhatsApp has been redesigned to become more familiar to Mac users, which helps them increase productivity when using the app on large screens.
The new version offers other features such as the possibility of easily sharing files through the in-conversation drag and drop mechanism, and reviewing more history of conversations.
WhatsApp has been testing the new Mac app for a while, and has launched a general beta version of it earlier this year, so users can try it on Mac computers with new Apple Silicon processors and MacOS 11 and more.
Users can download the new version of the WhatsApp for Mac computers through the platform's official website, and will soon be available in the Mac app store.
Meta also launched a new version of the app for Windows systems last March, with multiple similar features, including conference calls.
WhatsApp has launched desktop versions to computers for the first time in 2016, and has since experienced many substantial changes, allowing WhatsApp to be used on a computer even if the personal phone is offline.
