Raffles and Fairmont Doha have announced the appointment of Shamsa al-Fahad as the executive director of talent and culture. With an illustrious career spanning various industries, Shamsa, a native Qatari, brings a wealth of expertise in Human Resources leadership and strategic management, a statement said Sunday.

Prior to joining Raffles and Fairmont Doha, Shamsa held a distinguished tenure as human resources country head at HSBC Bank Qatar. Demonstrating her dedication to human resources, Shamsa led the Recruitment & Training Unit at Alrayyan for Media & Marketing Co. Her journey also encompassed pivotal positions like IT senior administrator and human resources manager.
Furthermore, she made impactful contributions in roles such as assistant human resources manager and senior human resources specialist at Gulf Bridge International QSTP.
Shamsa’s expertise further extended to Qatar Shell GTL and Qatar Shell Service Company, where she notably served as a human resources business advisor and as a recruitment co-ordinator, respectively.
Shamsa graduated from The University of Doha for Science and Technology with a Higher National Diploma in Science and Technology in Electronics Telecommunication Engineering. She also holds a Diploma in Arts in Business Administration from the Community College of Qatar. In her new role as executive director – talent & culture, she is expected to be instrumental in shaping the Human Resources landscape at Raffles and Fairmont Doha. Her portfolio includes steering the Human Resources Department, where her leadership has been pivotal in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
