Eighteen burned bodies were found Tuesday in Greece's Dadia Forest after a raging wildfire swept through the northeastern Greek region near the Turkish border.
"As there are no alerts of missing people in the area, it is possible that they were irregular migrants," fire service spokesman Giannis Artopoios said.
Many migrants and asylum seekers are trying to enter Greece from Turkey through the border forests. They choose the summer season due to lower risks compared to winter.
