The Health Control Sections of Umm Salal and Al Daayen municipalities have adopted a cooperation initiative aimed at ensuring health inspections on food establishments.
The initiative began with the implementation of joint inspection campaigns for a week on food establishments located within each municipality. The first phase was carried out within Umm Salal Municipality, focusing on central catering kitchens. The preparation and transportation stages of food from these kitchens to sales points within Al Daayen Municipality were monitored. During this phase, inspection methods were exchanged, and records of food supply and transportation were reviewed among inspection teams.
The second phase of the joint campaigns focused on Al Daayen Municipality. Commercial complexes were inspected, and the records of food items originating from the central catering kitchens in the Umm Salal Municipality were traced to the restaurants located within those complexes.
An agreement was reached between the two municipalities to continue this initiative and carry out joint campaigns covering slaughterhouses, fish markets, vegetable markets, in addition to more collaboration with some other municipalities.
