The Hayya Card option will be in place for the visitors of Expo 2023 Doha, which will be held from October 2, 2023 to March 28, 2024, an official announced Monday.
Expo 2023 Doha secretary general Mohammed al-Khoury told mediapersons that the Hayya Card entry system will be implemented in cooperation with Qatar Tourism for visitors to Expo 2023 Doha for its six months' duration.
Al-Khoury revealed the plan on the sidelines of the launching ceremony of the 2023-2024 season of Qatar Stars League (QSL) and the signing ceremony of cooperation between QSL and Expo 2023 Doha. The name of the league has been changed to Expo Stars League as per the agreement. Al-Khoury signed the agreement with QSL CEO Hani Taleb Ballan.
The details of the entry procedures with the Hayya Card for Expo 2023 Doha will be announced later, the official said. “We are expecting the participation of 80 countries and the entry of three million visitors to Doha during the exhibition period,” he explained.
The Hayya Card was launched during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a Fan ID that allowed ticket-holders' entry into Qatar and the stadiums while giving them free access to metro and bus services.
The Ministry of Interior had extended the validity of the Hayya Card, allowing the card holders from outside the country to enter Qatar until January 24, 2024.
