HE the Deputy Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr Mohammad bin Saif al-Kuwari separately met with advisor to the Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Mokhtar Farhat and person in charge of running the work of the High Commission for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in Tunisia Siddiq al-Khalidi on the margins of the visit by a delegation from NHRC to Tunisia.
HE the Deputy Chairperson of NHRC agreed with the advisor to Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training to sign a co-operation memorandum between the two sides that includes joint action to organize awareness campaigns, workshops and training courses that target the Tunisian community and workers in Qatar with respect to their rights, duties and procedures of visa obtainment prior to their arrival in Qatar.
HE Dr al-Kuwari discussed with Siddiq al-Khalidi ways to enhance co-operation between NHRC and High Commission for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in Tunisia in human rights and fields of joint interest in training, development and upgrading the capacities of affiliates on the implementation of human rights indicators and measurement of their impact, in addition to cooperation in organizing awareness media campaigns.
HE the Deputy Chairperson of NHRC offered the High Commission for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in Tunisia 100 copies of the workers' rights pocket booklet. The booklet simply illustrates workers' rights and duties from the time of entry to Qatar until return to their countries in a manner appropriate to all workers.
