Katara the Culture Village Foundation Summer Camp has received widespread praise from parents, who express their satisfaction with the programmes offered by the camp.
They consider it a wonderful way for children to stay active and engaged, as each day is filled with activities and informative workshops that children enjoy, explore, and learn new things from, expanding their knowledge and participating in sports. This provides them with an exciting and enjoyable experience filled with fun and learning.
The camp management has prepared a comprehensive programme in collaboration with various organizations, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Red Crescent, Al Jazeera Media Institute, Nomas Center, and the Shooting Club. All these organizations provide training and awareness workshops to enrich the participants' knowledge.
Workshops on Qatari etiquette and traditions were conducted by the Nomas Center, led by qualified Qatari trainers, to help raise a generation that values Islamic and Arabic ethics and behaviors, preserving Qatar's authentic social customs.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence's participation is part of the "Safe Summer 2023" initiative or "Safety against Summer Accidents." This initiative is part of its awareness plan for the year. Qatar Red Crescent also offered workshops aimed at introducing the participants to the basic first aid and proper health practices.
In addition, t Al Jazeera Media Institute, as part of its Al Jazeera Ambassadors initiative, provided a variety of workshops focusing on enhancing cultural and technological skills for the participants. The camp also included visits to the Museum of Islamic Art, the Qatari Shooting Association, and Al Thuraya Planetarium in Katara.
At the end of the third week, the camp's management honored the participants, amounting 41 children, alongside the winners of football, beach volleyball, shot put, and running competitions. Gold medals were awarded for first place in football and beach volleyball, while silver medals were given to the second-place winners. For the shot put and running competitions, the top three winners were announced and presented with gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Katar Summer Camp will continue its activities until August 15, taking place on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays of each week in the southern part of Katara. The camp is designed for children aged 10 to 13 years old.
