Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation continued its summer camp activities Monday. The camp, which will run until August 15, offers children an integrated programme of entertainment, education and sports.
The participating parties in the camp offer a number of awareness and training workshops.
As part of Al Jazeera Media Institute participation, Raghda Jamal, who is in charge the Al Jazeera Ambassadors Initiative and is the trainer of the story writing workshop for young people, expressed her happiness with this co-operation between the Al Jazeera Ambassadors Initiative and the Katara Summer Camp.
She said that the eight workshops offered to the participants at the camp are important and specially designed for the youth.
The Civil Defence presented a workshop to raise awareness of the risks of electricity, in addition to a special training on the use of fire extinguishers.
The camp programme held a quiz to improve the children’s general knowledge.
During a visit to the Dhow Museum, the participants were introduced to diving trips and traditional dhows, as well as the history of that time, as an important historical legacy of Qatar's maritime heritage.
