Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth is participating in the Gulf Forum for Youth Volunteering "ISNAD" which kicked off Monday in Salalah city, Oman.
Hosted by the Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the forum that would run until Aug 11 includes a series of training workshops in youth volunteering, managing volunteer projects and designing non-profit projects.
The event also includes a host of workshops and lectures that address concept of volunteering, its areas and challenges facing youth volunteering, in addition to discussing the challenges associated with volunteers, environment and society and exploring appropriate methods to solve them with the engagement of 32 young volunteers from GCC states.
The forum aims to consolidate the culture of volunteering among gulf youth, develop the spirit of responsibility and interaction with others, as well as highlighting successful models of trailblazing youth initiatives in volunteering work to share expertise and experiences among GCC states in the same field.
It comes in implementation of the decision issued by the 35th meeting of the GCC Committee of Youth and Sports Ministers on March 31, 2023, to explore programs, events, activities, and workshops engaging in humanitarian volunteering work.
