Qatar basketball team qualified today for the final of the GCC Junior Championship, which qualifies for the Asian Championship, after defeating their Kuwaiti counterpart, 75-72, in the semi-finals of the tournament which is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Qatari team played a strong match with great difficulties faced due to the strength of the opponent.
The Kuwaiti and Bahraini teams will meet on Sunday in a third-place play-off.
Secretary General of the Qatar Basketball Federation Saadoun Al Kuwari praised the team's qualification for the final of the tournament after defeating the Kuwaiti team in the semi-finals.
Al Kuwari said that the team presented a strong reaction in the match and achieved its goal of qualifying for the final.
