The Civil Aviation Authority started its week-long basic aviation security training course for officers organised by the Airport Security Department at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) Sunday.
The course seeks to introduce the trainees to the laws, systems, and procedures related to airport security and raise the security culture among participants by highlighting the security legislation for aviation and airports, the role of the airport security supervisor, prohibited materials and smuggling methods, the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) works, authorities empowered to issue search orders, judgments, inspection procedures, and baggage detection using modern devices, in addition to introducing how to deal with threats and emergencies, and protecting aircraft, facilities, and passengers.
Assistant Director of the Airport Security Department Col. Faisal Musallam al-Dosari explained that the course aims to provide the participants with knowledge related to aviation security requirements in accordance with the laws, regulations, and legislation and train them how to protect the security and safety of the airport and passengers through standard operating procedures.
Col. al-Dosari also stated that the course seeks to clarify security procedures and measures and respond appropriately in the event of any threat to aviation security, keep pace with the rapid security developments, and provide the highest levels of security, caution and safety for the entire aviation system.
