Doha, July 13 (QNA) - The Ministry of Interior (MOI) on Thursday organised an exhibition at Mall of Qatar in celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2023.
The exhibition was inaugurated by HE Chairperson of the General Authority of Customs Ahmed Abdullah Al Jamal, in the presence of Director General of Passports Maj. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Al Ateeq, Director General of the General Administration of Civil Defense Maj. Gen. Hamad Othman Al Dehaimi, and a number of directors of departments and officers at the Ministry of Interior.
On this occasion, the Chairperson of the General Authority of Customs said that marking this day is important, to promote interaction of citizens and residents in combating this dangerous scourge that all societies in the world suffer from. He praised the continuous cooperation and coordination with the security authorities and the work to develop the capabilities of the human cadres at the border crossings, including the security and customs personnel.
Director of the Communications Office at the Behavioral Health Support Center of MOI Mohammed Al Mohammadi, said that the center's participation comes with the intent of introducing its specializations, services, and programs that it provides through the publications, brochures, and some studies that the center offers. He praised the cooperation between the competent authorities in the country that deal with the youth category and focus their work in the educational, behavioral and educational fields, especially in the field of raising awareness of the dangers of drugs.
In turn Head of the Studies and Awareness Department at the Community Police Department Lt. Colonel Mubarak Rashid Al Khayareen said that the aim of their participation in the exhibition is to strengthen the relationship with the community and communicate with the various segments of society to deliver educational messages to the targeted groups among citizens or residents.
