On the third day of the ‘Future Engineer’ programme, the participating students Tuesday visited the Research and Development Center at the Quality and Safety Department of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). The participants, according to a statement by Ashghal, were given an explanation regarding the role of research and experiments carried out by Ashghal in its laboratories. Also, the students were explained about conducting scientific experiments in the laboratories.
Dr. Ali al-Marri, Quality and Safety Department Manager, emphasised the importance of practical experiments in developing and providing students with the skills and experiences necessary for future engineers, including the steps taken by #Ashghal to ensure the quality of the materials used in projects.
The second edition of the programme introduces students to various engineering disciplines at Ashghal. Implemented in coordination with Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), the programme on the first day introduced the students with direct practical application in several Ashghal departments while motivating them to think creatively. Also, the programme, according to a statement from Ashghal, makes students acquainted with modern technology during its stages.
The programme participants earlier visited the Lusail Sports Circuit upgrade project to learn about the different stages of the project and to sample some of the materials used in the project to be examined later in the laboratories.
The programme aims to familiarise students with various engineering disciplines to guide them through the process of choosing their own. This is by offering various workshops on different engineering disciplines with an explanation to their importance and advantages.
