Brazilian midfielder Thiago Mendes has joined Al Rayyan’s daily training as part of the preparations for the new football season 2023-2024.

The player trained with the team after he was officially contracted from France’s Olympique Lyonnais (OL). The Frenchman has a contract that extends till 2025 and makes him Al Rayyan’s first signing of the new season.

Mendes has had a great professional career before joining Al Rayyan as support in the midfield. The team is looking to provide its best performance to get results especially after Al Rayyan faced difficulties last season.

Al Rayyan are training at the club’s stadium under the technical leadership of their Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim, who has been contracted for two seasons and will lead the team starting from the new season.

Jardim along with the support staff are working hard to develop the full program from preparing players for the new season and for their overseas training camp in Austria to be held from July 17 to August 7.
Al Duhail raising fitness levels prior to training camp in Austria

Al Duhail have been training daily at the club’s stadiums as part of their preparations for the new football season and league championship for 2023-2024 season.

The training plan drawn up by the coaching staff led by Al Duhail’s Argentinian coach Hernan Crespo, whose contract was renewed by the club management following the club's great success he helped achieve in the last season 2022-2023 winning three championships with the team (The League Championship, Qatar Cup and Ooredoo Cup).

The technical staff is currently focusing on strengthening physical fitness of the players who are present since some have been away doing national duty for Al Annabi in the Gold Cup in the US.

Some injured players are also undergoing rehab, most notably Brazilian Edmilson Junior, who had a successful surgery on his ankle a few days ago in London. He is expected to join his colleagues soon in preparation for the new season, the club announced.

The team’s training, meanwhile, will continue on a daily basis before the players and support staff head to Seefeld, Austria, for the overseas camp, on July 23.

Recently, the club's administration thanked its player Ali Afif following the end of his contract, during which he succeeded in winning a number of championships and titles with the team. He was one of the mainstays in addition to his contributions with the national team where he was a member of the 2019 Asian Cup winning Al Annabi side.
Qatar SC arrive in Alicante in Spain for training camp

The Qatar SC delegation arrived in the Spanish city of Alicante for their training camp ahead of the new football season 2023-2024. The camp will be held from July 8 to July 29 before the players’ return to Doha for the final stage preparations for the start of the league championship.

The support staff of the team, led by Moroccan coach Youssef Safri, will work to achieve maximum benefits during the camp with focus on technical and physical training of players in addition to playing friendly matches during which the coach would be keen to experiment with some of his plans and tactical methods.

The team's training began at the start of this month earlier and after the end of the vacation. Coach Safri has been keen to push the players to do their best.

It should be noted that Qatar SC, a few days ago announced that the contracts of some players had expired, namely: Khaled Waleed, Abdulrahman Al Jassem, Nabil Bahoui and Javier Pastore.
Al Sadd continue preparations for new season at overseas camp in Austria

The Al Sadd team continues to train at their overseas camp in Austria for the new football season 2023-2024.

Al Sadd began their training on the 1st of July at Seefeld in Austria and will continue until the 15th of July during which the team will also be playing three friendly matches. The first of these friendlies was played on Wednesday evening (5 July) against the SVG Reichenau club of Austria. Al Sadd won the match 4-0.

The coaching staff of Al Sadd is by their Spaniard coach Juan Manuel Lillo “Juanma”, who aims to give opportunity to many players in the friendlies to gauge their response to the work they have been putting in during their training in Doha before traveling to Austria in preparation for the new season.

It was decided to adjust the date for the team's return from its outdoor camp to July 15th instead of the previous date of July 19. This comes in light of a friendly match to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium between Al Sadd and Raja Club Athletic of Morocco on July 21 as part of preparations for clubs participating in the King Salman Cup.

It is worth noting that the Al Sadd team has succeeded in strengthening its ranks with a number of professional international players, foremost among them being Brazilian left-back Paulo Otavio from German club Wolfsburg and forward Giovani Henrique from Brazilian Palmeiras.

Al Sadd have also contracted Colombian midfielder Matias of Portuguese club Porto and Iranian defender Mohammad Amin Hazbavi of Foolad Khuzestan.

Al Sadd, meanwhile, have also renewed the contract of their Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Torres for two more seasons until 2025 and have kept Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah in the ranks for the next season.

Soon after their outdoor camp in Austria, Al Sadd will compete in the King Salman Club Championship which will be held in Saudi Arabia from July 27 to August 12 with the participation of 16 Arab teams, where Al Sadd are in the second group alongside Saudi Al Hilal, Moroccan Wydad and Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli.
