HE the Second vice-president of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari was re-elected vice-president of OCA for west Asia from the period 2023 until 2027, during the 42nd General Assembly of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
HE Dr. Al Kuwari will assume the responsibility of supporting national Olympic committees in West Asia region for another four years, while Sheikh Talal Fahad Al-Sabah was re-elected president of OCA.
Following his re-election, HE Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari said he is glad to hold this position once again, adding that he is honored to have an opportunity to proceed with his career in this esteemed position to serve OCA for another four years.
He thanked President of QOC HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani for the trust and support he received from him, pointing out that QOC has played a vital role within QOC system through its efforts devoted to developing the missions of the council and serving the Asian Olympic family in accordance with highest standards.
HE Al Kuwari emphasised that as a strong and united continent, Asia will continue its pioneering movement and advanced march in the Olympic movement during the upcoming years, adding that the movement will epitomize peace and solidarity values and provide an amazing model to the entire world.
