The Court of Misdemeanour has acquitted a major commercial outlet in the country of charges of infringing the intellectual properties of others through the imitation of an electric coffee maker.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the issue started when the lawyer of the company owning this machine filed a complaint against the outlet, accusing it of imitating its machine brand. The case was referred to the court by the Public Prosecution. After reviewing the case, the court doubted the authenticity of the accusation and pointed out that the product in question is sold at various selling points and there is no evidence that the accused had attempted to imitate it.
