HE the Minister of Municipality Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie has been elected Vice-Chairperson of the 43rd Session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Conference, which began in Rome Saturday and will run until July 7, under the title "Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment and Better Life".
The conference is discussing a host of important issues, including the role of trade in securing diverse foods to ensure global food security in times of crisis, climate changes and food resource prices, in addition to the extended humanitarian crises in Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria and other countries, as well as the promotion and development of technological and digital innovations in the agricultural fields, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
HE the Minister of Municipality is heading Qatar's delegation to the conference.
The conference is expected to produce a number of important decisions and recommendations related to global food security and food crises around the world.
The conference provides a vital platform for leaders, experts and stakeholders from around the world to engage in discussions focused on food security, agriculture and sustainable development.
Founded on Oct. 16, 1945, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN is a specialized agency of the UN that leads international efforts to defeat hunger and improve nutrition and food security.
