Five Indian expatriates have died in a road accident at Al Khor. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday after the car in which they were traveling fell from a ramp after being hit by a speeding vehicle, community sources said.
The deceased have been identified as Roshin John (38), his wife Ancy Gomas (30) and brother-in-law Jijo Gomas (34) -- all natives of Kollam district in Kerala -- and Tamil Nadu natives Praveen Kumar Sankar (38) and his wife Nagalakshmi Chandrasekharan (33).
Roshin’s three-year-old son Aden is undergoing treatment at Sidra Medicine after he was seriously injured. The bodies are kept in the mortuary of Al Khor Hospital of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). KMCC Al Ihsan Mayyith Paripalana Committee, a Keralite expatriate group, has started proceedings to repatriate bodies.
On Tuesday night, Keralite expatriates Augustine Eby (41) and Manoj Kumar Arjun (34) died after their car met with an accident in Saudi Arabia on their way to Bahrain. The bodies, according to Al Ihsan Mayyith Paripalana Committee, will be repatriated to India.
