Around 400 low-income individuals were the beneficiaries of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum's (ICBF) 45th medical camp at Asian Town recently.
The event, according to an ICBF statement, was organised with an aim to raise awareness on joining the ICBF insurance scheme.
The camp provided consultations in various medical specialties including internal medicine, ENT, dental screening, orthopaedic, dermatology and physiotherapy. Pharmacy service was available for the beneficiaries.
Indian embassy charge d'affaires T Angeline Premalatha, inaugurated the camp, interacted with the patients and underscored the unity among Indians, referring to the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, where everyone becomes a support system for each other.
ICBF co-ordinating officer and Indian embassy first secretary Suman Sonkar was present. ICBF president Shanavas Bava delivered the presidential address while highlighting the significance of medical camps in improving the health of low-income individuals. ICBF secretary and in-charge of medical camps Mohammed Kunhi welcomed the gathering.
Twenty student volunteers served the camp. The event was visited by officials and members of various organisations, who supported for ICBF's efforts in providing accessible healthcare to the needy.
The camp was supported by the Indian Pharmacists Association Qatar and Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar.
