Approximately 800 Indonesian citizens in Qatar attended the Eid al-Adha prayer and family gathering Wednesday.
The activity initiated by the Indonesian embassy in collaboration with the Indonesian Moslem Society in Qatar (IMSQA) and the Association of Indonesian Communities in Qatar (PERMIQA) was held at Tariq bin Ziyad Secondary School, Doha.
Indonesian ambassador Ridwan Hassan attended the event. In his remarks, the envoy stressed three important lessons from Eid al-Adha, namely the necessity to protect human life, the importance of establishing dialogue and the obligation to share with those in need. "Eid al-Adha must be a momentum for us to redouble our efforts to help and protect those who are weak," the envoy urged.
The activities also included quizzes and rhyming contests participated by the Indonesian diaspora in Qatar. The winners were given prizes by the committee.
