The International Scientific Conference on Social Responsibility 2023, organised by Qatar National Library (QNL) in partnership with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility and the International Islamic University Malaysia, honoured Qatar Charity (QC) as one of the institutions with a social impact and the winner of the Excellence Awards in the field of social responsibility 2023 'Eltizam'.
HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, Minister of State and the president of QNL, handed over the award to QC's Programmes and Community Development Sector assistant CEO Faisal bin Rashid al-Fahida.
QC sponsored the conference and presented a working paper in which it reviewed the success stories of its projects in Qatar, through the 'Izdihar' initiative launched in October 2022 with the aim of sponsoring voluntary initiatives and events.
'Izhidhar' was able to provide support for more than 10 community initiatives during 2023, launch more than seven initiatives, and has a database of more than 21,000 volunteers, in addition to including nearly 500 volunteer specialists to train and qualify volunteers and contributing nearly one million volunteer, and providing 230 volunteer opportunities.
