An Omani delegation Wednesday visited the Ministry of Municipality's Building Permits Complex Department to learn about its major capacities, efforts and achievements in the field of issuing permits, construction planning and technical requirements for buildings and facilities.
The delegation, from Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), was briefed on Qatar's experience in the field of preparing and applying technical construction requirements and e-permits. Thursday, the delegation will make a field visit to several logistical and industrial areas to learn about the Ministry's agencies' application of guides to construction planning and technical requirements.
The Building Permits Complex Department director engineer Saad Abdul Karim al-Qahtani highlighted the technical solutions to issue e-permits in a short time, and the remarkable achievements over the past four years including the release of the four-volume building requirements manual.
Al-Qahtani stressed that the visit aimed to exchange construction experiences between both sides and explain the facilities provided to developers, consulting offices and real estate owners in Qatar, highlighting the unified building procedures that develop the country's comprehensive urban renaissance.
Madayn's Project Management director engineer Ahmed al-Farsi said the visit sought to help Omani side learn about Qatar's preparation of construction requirements, especially with the release of its fourth edition of Building Requirements Guidebook.
Madayn is in the process of issuing an Omani Building Requirements Manual, so there was a desire to see the successful experiences of the neighbouring countries, particularly the Qatari side, al-Farsi added.
