Qatar's ambassador to Sudan Mohamed bin Ibrahim al-Sada affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and people, pointing in a related context to Qatar's permanent support for Sudan in all crises and difficulties faced by the brotherly people.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the ambassador noted that from this standpoint and under the generous directive of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar operated an air bridge to support the Sudanese people, noting that the number of Amir Air Force carrying food and medical aid, provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity, had reached 10, which highlights the support of the Amir, the government and the people of Qatar to the people of Sudan.
He pointed out that the Sudanese people welcomed, at the official and popular levels, what was agreed during the phone call that His Highness the Amir received from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in terms of co-ordination and for the need to take into account the humanitarian aspects, and to facilitate the flow of aid to those affected by the fighting in Sudan, as well as to spare civilians the consequences, and to provide support and assistance to mitigate the effects of the crisis, especially among Sudanese refugees.
