The Language Centre at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) has announced the opening of registration for the Residence Programme in Advanced Arabic and Social Studies.
It is considered a unique forum for academic and cultural exchange of DI’s predominantly native Arabic-speaking graduates and teachers from across the Arab World and their international non-native speakers or heritage peers, a statement said Monday.
Dr Alaa Eljebali, director of the Language Centre, stated that the programme of one semester and which takes place in Doha is meant to meet the linguistic, cultural and academic needs of advanced Arabic learners as well as the heritage students who wish to strengthen their language and culture skills.
The programme is delivered entirely in Arabic. It provides the students with expertise in their academic majors and allows them to interact professionally in Arabic. In addition, it offers dedicated classes in language, translation, content, production skills, listening, reading and others.
The students will benefit from the diversity of the courses available at the DI in Arabic through its two schools: School of the Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economy, Administration and Public Policy.
The DI offers an exemption from tuition fees and provides free accommodation for a limited number of academically distinguished students. Interested students can apply through the DI website until August 15, 2023. The programme will start on January 7, 2024 and end on April 25, 2024.
