The General Directorate for Drug Enforcement has apprehended an individual from an Asian country for trafficking-in the illicit drug hashish, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Monday.
The trafficking done in exchange for monetary gains was in collaboration with another individual outside the country, MoI said in a tweet. Following the authorization from the Public Prosecution, the suspect was apprehended, the tweet added.
During the search of the suspect's residence and vehicle, 12kgm of hashish were discovered, packaged in various sizes of rolls and packets. The suspect and the seized items have been referred to the Public Prosecution to initiate the necessary legal procedures in this matter, MoI said.
