Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) has announced the next edition of its popular High School Summer Programme.
The Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university’s three-week programme, with an optional extra week of portfolio classes, offers an introduction to the different majors at Qatar’s renowned art and design university, a statement explained.
Following a week-long overarching introduction to the various academic pathways at VCUarts Qatar, students get to choose one discipline from graphic design, interior design, fashion design and painting and printmaking. They will spend the second and third weeks exploring this discipline in depth.
This is followed by an optional fourth week of classes devoted to portfolio development skills. This additional week will help prospective students who are submitting their portfolios as part of the application processes for art, design and architecture universities.
The programme runs from July 2-20, 2023, without the portfolio development class. The optional fourth week of portfolio development classes runs from July 23-27. The daily class timing is from 10 am to 1 pm.
