Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Stamp Center organised a symposium under the title of coins and stamps' role in promoting identity and documenting historical events within the activities of 32nd Doha International Book Fair.
The symposium addressed the history of stamps in the State of Qatar, along with stamps of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Director of the center Hussain Rajab Al Ismail said the center participates in Doha International Book Fair with a special pavilion carrying the name of a success story which showcases a collection of philatelic and numismatic stamps that were printed to mark the world cup 2022, along with some special gifts such as Medals.
The symposium tackled the achievements of philatelic and numismatic Stamps in Qatar and their history, in addition to the services Qatar Post has offered in a period, Al Ismail added, pointing out that the symposium addressed the methods of youth fans' engagement in international contests that are pertinent to philatelic and numismatic stamps with a special emphasis on an array of topics Qatar had won during its participation in regional and international events.
For his part, stamps expert Mustafa Waddah Al Khatib talked about the history of philatelic and numismatic stamps in Qatar which underwent many times and stories, pointing out that Qatar possesses enormous collections of rare global stamps, each one has different story that dates to past centuries.
