His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani Wednesday participated in the official funeral of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in Milan.
His Highness the Amir offered his condolences to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the family of the late prime minister, and several senior Italian officials. A number of heads of state and government and senior officials participated in the funeral.
In a tweet on his official account, His Highness the Amir said he participated in Berlusconi's funeral and affirmed that the former Italian prime minister was a friend of Qatar who was keen, during his tenure, to develop bilateral co-operation between the two countries. On this occasion, His Highness extended sincere condolences to the friendly Italian government, and to the family and friends of the deceased.
