HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held on Wednesday morning at its seat at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet acknowledged the outcomes of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's tour of several countries in Central Asia from June 5-8, which included state visits to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, and a work visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, during which His Highness participated in the Astana International Forum.
The Cabinet affirmed that His Highness the Amir's fruitful talks with the leaders of these friendly countries, and the agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed during the tour, moved the State of Qatar's strong relations with these countries to a new stage of constructive bilateral cooperation in various fields, and strengthened the prevailing understanding and mutual trust, and the joint aspiration to develop these distinguished relations in the interest of stability and development in the region and for the benefit of its peoples.
Afterwards, the Cabinet considered the topics on its agenda as follows:
First - Approval of a draft law on higher education institutions, and referring it to the Shura Council.
Second - Approval of a draft cabinet decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 26 of 2019 establishing a national committee for women, children, older persons and persons with disabilities.
Third - Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Municipality to amend Decision No. 68 of 2011 amending geographical boundaries of certain municipalities and zones.
According to the provisions of the draft, the geographical boundaries of Al Wakra Municipality shall be determined, in accordance with the plan and coordinates attached to this decision.
Fourth - Approval of:
1- A draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the State of Qatar's government and Malaysia's government regarding cooperation in the health field.
2- A draft MoU for cooperation between the Public Prosecution in the State of Qatar and the Office of the Attorney General in Nepal.
3- A draft MoU on comprehensive cooperation in the field of intellectual property between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in the State of Qatar and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) in the Republic of Korea.
