Raffles Doha has announced the promotion of Cem Akşahin as executive assistant manager, a statement said.
With a career spanning over 14 years in prestigious ultra-luxury hotels and brands such as The Dorchester London, Kempinski Barbaros Bay Bodrum, Raffles Dubai, Raffles Istanbul, and now Raffles Doha, Akşahin has established himself as a leader in the hospitality industry.
His educational background, including an MBA from Geneva's Swiss School of Business and Management, as well as degrees from the UK's Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality programme and Bogazici University in Istanbul, further enhance his qualifications, it was explained.
Prior to his current role, Akşahin was a director of Food & Beverage at Raffles Istanbul where he oversaw seven restaurants and lounges. He also launched the hotel’s new Spanish concept restaurant Arola by the two Michelin Star Chef Sergio Arola, the contemporary Asian concept ‘Isokyo’ and the famous Raffles Long Bar. He also had collaboration with two Michelin star chef Paco Roncero. His contributions to the culinary landscape have solidified his reputation as a visionary in the field, consistently pushing boundaries and delivering extraordinary dining experiences.
In his new role as an executive assistant manager, Akşahin oversees a diverse portfolio of seven restaurants and lounges, including the renowned Italian restaurant Alba by Enrico Crippa, the hotel’s signature bar Blue Cigar, Acoustic Music Penthouse, Aqua Lounge, L’Artisan and the city’s favourite Afternoon Tea lounge, Malaki.
Akşahin is also responsible for overseeing banquet operations of the majestic Katara Hall and all the event and meeting spaces at Raffles Doha, the statement added.
