A total of around 1,000 families benefited from the Zakat Fund aid by the Department of Zakat Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf).
An Awqaf statement explained that an amount of QR 16,865,134 was given as aid during May to these families. The aid included periodic and intermittent assistance to the eligible registered families in accordance with the legal controls and banks and approved mechanisms.
A total of QR 7,762,059 was distributed as the periodic aid on a monthly basis to the eligible families while QR 9,103,075 was distributed as one time aid.
The Zakat Affairs Department provides electronic services to the payers and the beneficiaries while facilitating them to calculate the Zakat of all kinds and helping them pay Zakat through the official website. Also, the application can be submitted through the website by uploading the required documents shown on the site http://www.zakat.gov.qa.
The department provides the service of calculating sakat for companies free of charge to facilitate the owners of companies in performing the duty, and they can send the financial budget of the company to the email of the fund [email protected].
