HE the Minister of Labour and President of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri met with Director-General of the Arab Labour Organization Fayez Ali al-Mutairi, on the sidelines of the 111th session of the International Labor Conference in the Swiss capital, Geneva.
During the meeting, they discussed joint co-operation between Qatar and the Arab Labour Organization, to serve labour sector issues in the Arab countries, and ways to support and develop them during the coming period. Al-Mutairi extended congratulations to HE al-Marri on his election as President of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference. He emphasized that Qatar's assumption of the conference's presidency signifies Qatar's remarkable achievements in bringing about significant improvements within the employment sector.
Furthermore, both parties delved into matters pertaining to International Labour Conference agenda, focusing on the key priorities of Arab nations. They explored strategies for utilizing the conference as a platform to improve and elevate the working environment, thereby promoting decent employment opportunities and fostering social justice across various Arab countries.
HE al-Marri also met with Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran Solat Mortazavi, on the sidelines of the conference, and discussed ways to enhance joint co-operation, especially in the areas of the labour sector.
