The General Directorate of Drug Enforcement has apprehended two individuals from an Asian country involved in trafficking various narcotics and concealing them in different areas using geographical coordinates, in collaboration with a third party.
With authorisation from the Public Prosecution, a search was conducted at the suspects' residence, resulting in the seizure of a significant quantity of hashish, Shabu, and heroin. Furthermore, a sum of QR11,700, believed to be proceeds from the narcotics trade, was also confiscated, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a tweet Thursday.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to distributing narcotics by placing them at specific coordinates in exchange for monetary compensation. They would then transmit the coordinates to a third Asian person located outside the country. Both suspects, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the Public Prosecution to initiate the necessary legal procedures, MoI added.
