The Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs and Regulation of Traditions and Rituals (CRA) of Tajikistan, Sulaimon Davlatzoda said that the inauguration of Imam Abu Hanifa Al-Nu'man bin Thabit Mosque, the largest mosque in Central Asia, in the city of Dushanbe, funded by the State of Qatar, confirms the significant role that Qatar plays in the Islamic world and its great position as a country that has provided and is still providing a lot of service to humanity in the world.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Davlatzoda stated that thanks to its initiatives and charitable efforts, Qatar has been able to attain a high position in the Islamic world in recent decades. This is a testament to the success of its foreign policy, thanks to its wise leadership, he added.
He expressed pride that Qatar participates in the development of his country through several projects, the latest of which is the Imam Abu Hanifa Al-Nu'man bin Thabit Mosque in Dushanbe, which stands as a testament to Qatar's growing achievements. These accomplishments serve as a source of pride for the Tajik people, he stressed.
The inauguration of the mosque has a positive impact on the spirit of friendship between the two countries and the two peoples, as this mosque will serve Muslims in Tajikistan for many centuries in the future; and will remain an influential factor in strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and a motive at the same time for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries to broader horizons.
He stressed that the opening of the mosque, by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, is a gesture of goodwill that further supports the relations between the two countries. It is expected that several new cooperation agreements will be signed in various fields between the two friendly nations, he said adding that the visit of His Highness the Amir will undoubtedly elevate the cooperation between the two sides to a new qualitative stage.
