His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held an official talks session Wednesday at Ala Archa State Residence in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.
At the outset of the session, the Kyrgyz president welcomed His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay.
The Kyrgyz president stressed the importance of the Amir's visit, especially since His Highness is the first Arab leader to pay an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
He expressed hope that the visit will push for more co-operation between the two countries in various fields. He also affirmed Kyrgyzstan's keenness to enhance bilateral co-operation with Qatar.
On his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his thanks to the Kyrgyz president for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
He emphasised the importance of the visit, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations, looking forward to the visit contributing to the development of co-operation between the two countries in various fields in a way that achieves the aspirations and interests of the two friendly peoples.
During the session, bilateral relations and means to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the areas of economy, finance, Customs, military and legal co-operation, agriculture, food security, health and sports were discussed, in addition to the most important regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
The official talks session was attended by HE the Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, and a number of senior officials and members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir.
On the Kyrgyz side, it was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Kulubaev Zheenbek, Minister of Economy and Commerce Amangeldiev Daniyar, Minister of Defence Bekbolotov Baktybek, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Maksutov Altynbek, Minister of Environment and Agriculture Melis Turgunbaev, Minister of Justice Baetov Ayaz Batyrkulovich, and a number of senior Kyrgyz officials.
His Highness the Amir and the Kyrgyz president had held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed aspects of supporting and developing relations between the two friendly countries and a number of issues of mutual interest.
His Highness Sheikh Tamim attended the luncheon banquet hosted by the Kyrgyz president Wednesday in honor of His Highness at Ala Archa National Park.
During the talk session, bilateral relations between the two countries and means to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the areas of economy, finance, customs, military and legal cooperation, agriculture, food security, health and sports were discussed.
