Turkiye will see significant progress during Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new presidential term, Turkish ambassador to Qatar Dr Mustafa Goksu has said.
He made the observation in a statement issued following the recent elections.
"With great joy and pride, I salute the great Turkish people after their huge participation in the recent presidential and parliamentary elections, who showed their deep love for democracy and freedom and their commitment to the future of their country," he said. "I extend my warmest congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning a second presidential term, and we affirm that his success reflects the confidence of the Turkish people in the ability to lead the country towards further progress and prosperity".
He continued, "We are proud of the great progress and honest democratic life that Turkiye has been experiencing during the past two decades, while we await the start of the centenary of the Turkish Republic, and the glorious renaissance century that befits our great nation.
"I am sure that Turkiye will see significant progress during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new presidential term, as our country deserves a stable government under the leadership of a loyal, capable and beloved president like Mr. Erdogan."
Dr GoksuI thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who was the first to congratulate Erdogan on his victory in the presidential elections, which shows the depth of Qatari-Turkish relations that have been witnessing great prosperity in recent years.
"I also thank the Qatari government and police for organising and facilitating the electoral process that took place at our embassy in Doha, which enabled our citizens in Qatar to cast their votes calmly and peacefully," he said.
"Further, I won’t forget to thank the Arab people for their support and love for this great country, and we feel that the prays of our brothers in the Arab and Islamic world were our companions in this historical march. I renew that the bonds of brotherhood and friendship that unite us with our Arab brothers enhance our strength and contribute to achieving our common aspirations."
