The Cabinet on Tuesday approved a draft decision of HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education amending some provisions of Decision No 42 of 2017 setting the price of textbooks and school transport fees for non-Qatari students who are not GCC nationals, and exempting them from these fees, the Qatar News Agency reported. In a statement on social media, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education later explained that the "non-Qatari students who are not GCC nationals", as stated in the above-mentioned decision, refers to the children of imams and muezzins affiliated to the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs. Accordingly, this category of students would be added to other groups previously exempted from payment of the above-mentioned fees in accordance with the decision referred to, the ministry said.
