Modern technology, sustainability, performance improvement and digital transformation are on top of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal)’s priorities, a senior official has said.
“Ashghal promotes modern technology while trying to achieve digital transformation in all its projects,” said Saud al-Tamimi, Roads Projects Department manager at Ashghal, while addressing the opening session of Project Qatar 2023 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre Monday.
“Ashghal is looking forward to co-operating with suppliers, contractors and consultants to work on initiatives that enhance the use of modern technology in construction work, sustainability and raising productivity in the construction sector. Our goal is to implement most of Ashghal's projects. Using modern technology is the first step towards raising international performance standards," he noted.
Al-Tamimi added: "At Ashghal, and under the umbrella of our wise government, we strive for more achievements and follow up on the implementation of plans for the implementation of infrastructure projects within the framework of our pursuit to achieve the strategic vision of Ashghal, which is excellence in the implementation and management of efficient and sustainable infrastructure."
He stressed that Ashghal is committed to implementing and managing projects in an effective way and in accordance with the highest international quality standards.
“We will continue to construct and manage road and drainage networks, and public buildings as it constitutes a major pillar on which development programmes are based, in line with the aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030, with the aim of providing a sustainable infrastructure for future generations. Our goal at the beginning and the end is to serve the people, improve their areas, facilitate their lives and achieve a legacy for future generations, so that everyone who lives in Qatar will have a healthy and sustainable life in a country where pedestrians are a priority and safe paths for pedestrians and bicycles are available,” the official explained.
He noted that Ashghal’s strategic partnership with Project Qatar comes within the authority’s vision to enhance communication and partnership with various private sector companies that contribute to the implementation of projects "so that we can co-operate with them in the future and keep pace with the rapid growth in all fields, especially the construction sector.
“Ashghal is keen to enhance co-operation with the private sector and increase its investments in the implementation of State projects by assigning government projects,” he said.
At Project Qatar, Ashghal is showcasing its achievements in infrastructure projects and plans for the most important projects for the future.
