The external natural protectorates office at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) will hold a training course on the principles of houbara bustard breeding at the Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation from today until May 31.
The training will target citizens interested in breeding the endangered bird.
A group of world experts in houbara breeding will lecture during the four-day training course introducing the topics of houbara production and biosecurity, incubators, and chicks rearing.
Director of the external natural protectorates office at the MoECC, head of the Rawdat Al Faras Centre for Houbara Breeding Mohamed Nahar al-Nuaimi expressed his happiness at great turnout for the course's registration, with the course being the first-of- its-kind to train Qatari citizens interested in breeding the bird.
Al-Nuaimi added that the course trains those interested in achieving environmental balance and sustainability in Qatar, and serves the centre's goal of becoming the main reference for houbara breeders in the country.
