Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari recently held a meeting with Osman Nuri Onugoren, the chairman of Diplomatic Relations Commission at the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD).
The meeting discussed means to strengthen bilateral relations between both sides and the importance of enhancing co-operation ties, especially in organising events and conferences for the benefit of Qatari and Turkish businessmen.
It also touched on commercial and investment cooperation and the investment opportunities available in both countries, as well as the possibility of establishing joint ventures.
Addressing the meeting, al-Kuwari stressed the close relations between Qatar and Turkiye and both countries’ cooperation in many fields, such as economic and commercial. He noted that Qatar-Turkiye trade stood at QR8.1bn in 2022, registering a 17% year-on-year increase from QR6.9bn.
Al-Kuwari described the country as an attractive investment destination, adding that Qatari businessmen are eager to invest in Turkiye and establish commercial alliances with their Turkish counterparts.
