Qatar on Thursday finished runners-up in the snooker event on third day of the Arab Billiards and Snooker Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.The national side comprising the trio of Ahmed Saif, Muhanna al-Obaidly and Bashar Hussein lost to Iraq 1-2 after a thrilling battle in the final.
Qatar finished the group stage on top after beating two Saudi Arabia sides and Kuwait. They had defeated Jordan in the semi-finals.Meanwhile, the third day of the tournament saw the Saudi's Khaled al-Ghamdi win the gold medal in the 10-ball billiards competition for juniors. Twelve countries are participating in the championship, which will conclude on May 29.
