The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday announced it had restored the level of diplomatic relations with Canada to its previous state, based on shared respect and joint interests between the two countries.
In a statement quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, the ministry stated: "In the light of what has been discussed between HH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, on the sidelines of the summit of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in Bangkok in November 2022, and the desire of both sides to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries based on mutual respect and joint interests, it has been decided to restore the level of diplomatic relations with Canada to its previous state."
