Adviser to Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari met on Monday with a delegation of the UK Parliament, headed by Member of the Parliament and chair of the Qatar all-party parliamentary group (APPG) Alun Cairns.
The meeting dealt with bilateral co-operation relations, especially in the economic field, as well as the developments in Sudan, Syria and Afghanistan. Members of the UK parliamentary delegation praised the pivotal role of the State of Qatar in providing energy supplies in light of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and lauded Qatar's efforts in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. They also extended thanks to Qatar for its effective contribution to the evacuations of the UK citizens from Afghanistan.
