The School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) and the College of Public Policy at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) organised a panel discussion to discuss the reality in the Middle East and North Africa in the topics of policy-making, governance, regulating political economy and economy of society with emphasis on Qatar as a case study.
Attended by several researchers and academics who are interested in the areas of economy, administration and public policy, with the participation of teachers and students of the relevant post-graduate programmes, the panel discussion was intended to share expertise, ideas and boost the academic co-operation between the two entities.
The panel discussion also addressed a wide range of topics related to the theoretical framework for general management and risk management, as well as reconsidering investment theories and its applications on cases in the Arab world.
The event discussed the latest research and studies in the area of climate change and environmental corporate governance with a focus on ways to support decision-making process for the institutions concerned with managing climate change and environment risks in addition to highlighting the role undertaken by Qatar in conserving the environment despite the environmental deterioration at the global level.
In addition, the speakers discussed the general investment policies in the case of the democratic transition in the Middle East and North Africa by focusing on Tunisia as a case study. (QNA)
