Al Jazeera Media Institute and the International Islamic University Malaysia recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of media at Al Jazeera Media Network's headquarters.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Mostefa Souag, acting director-general of the network, and Mohamed Khalid Nuruddin, Malaysian Minister of Higher Education.
Iman al-Ameri, director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, expressed happiness at signing the memorandum with a leading educational institution such as the International Islamic University Malaysia, noting that the MoU comes within the framework of strengthening the Institute's partnerships at an international level.
Fakhri bin Abdul Razzaq, dean of the International Islamic University Malaysia, praised the agreement, considering it an opportunity for his university students to benefit from the expertise of Al Jazeera Media Network in the field of media, which he said has a great reputation in his country.
The dean also praised the leading role and experience in the fields of training and development of Al Jazeera Media Institute in the region and the world.
The three-year memorandum sets out a framework for co-operation in common areas such as media training, research, a series of journalism-related workshops, and the organisation of bilateral audiences and conferences.​
