The Police Academy Thursday announced the launch of the fourth edition of the 'Police Officers of Tomorrow' initiative. While addressing a press conference, Capt. Hamad Khaled al-Mannai, Chairman of the initiative, said the training programmes for the first and second batches will be held from July 1 to July 13 while the third and fourth groups will attend the programme from July 15 to July 27 while the fifth and sixth groups will attend the training from July 29 to August 10.
The students will be divided into six groups, three groups will attend the training in the morning from Sunday to Thursday while the training for the three other groups will be held in the evening from Saturday to Wednesday.
The programme features military and athletic field training to upgrade their physical fitness and learn the core skills of marksmanship, swimming and self-defence, in addition to the recreational and athletic contests and educational lectures. The programme’s objective is to instill allegiance and belonging to the country in the heart of the graduates, adding that through this programme the core objective will be achieved to enhance the societal partnership and prepare the military students to carry out the works that benefit the public interest.

Al-Mannai said the latest version of the programme includes field visits to a number of Ministry of Interior (MoI) departments including the Police Rescue Department (Al-Fazaa), the General Administration of Coasts and Borders Security, the General Administration of Civil DefenCe and the National Command Centre (NCC). The programme, according to al-Mannai, is implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), the Amiri Guard, the National Agency for Cybersecurity, Qatar TV and the Shafallah Centre.
