The Qatar Media Corporation's (QMC) Human Resources Department, organised a training workshop for department managers, heads of departments, and employees in co-operation with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CSGDB), local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The aim was to explain the mechanism of setting and formulating goals, how to link individual goals to institutional goals, and to introduce the employee performance evaluation system. About 400 employees from various departments and from the QMC participated.
Nasser al-Jaber, director of Human Resources at the QMC, described the exercise as one of the best for setting goals and evaluating employees’ goals and to raise their job performance to the highest levels using modern methods.
Rawda al-Mannai, a trainer in human development and law and a senior legal expert, said that the goal-setting workshop is a “performance” system that achieves justice for employees in ministries and institutions because of its policy to develop and build capabilities and qualifications.
The workshop discussed and explained setting operational, strategic and special goals, so that the employee can set his goals through the message and vision of the strategic plan of the QMC, she explained.
Noura al-Hajri, a senior expert in personnel affairs at the QMC and an ambassador for the performance system at the CSGDB, indicated that the workshop is a new and distinctive idea that aims to raise the level of employees in defining their goals, and ensuring transparency in evaluating performance to reduce grievances in the workplace.
