HE President of the Supreme Judiciary Council and President of the Court of Cassation Dr Hassan bin Lahdan al-Hassan al-Mohannadi praised the support given by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the development of justice systems.
In a statement, he said that the issuance of the Judicial Authority Law is one of the main pillars to regulate the work of the judiciary as it provides a stimulating environment for judicial work and guarantees for judges and litigants, noting that this law is one of the results of the national initiative to develop justice systems and the strategic plan to develop the judiciary, in a way that contributes to the achievement of prompt justice and the consolidation of the independence of the judiciary.
HE Dr al-Mohannadi pointed out that the law included many new texts to balance the rights and duties of judges and develop judicial work according to high indicators while strengthening control mechanisms over the quality of judicial work and the performance of judges.
This law, he said, is a new start in the process of the Qatari judiciary, nearly 20 years after the issuance of the previous Judicial Authority Law, explaining that the Council has begun preparing the executive procedures for the new law to activate its provisions when it comes into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
