The Doha-based Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) will hold on Monday a symposium to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.
The convening of the symposium comes within the framework of ANNHRI's support of the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, its rejection of the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its flagrant violations of the principles of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, and to remind the world of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the steadfast Palestinian people.
The symposium aims to shed light on the Israeli occupation's violations against the Palestinian people, including killing, torture, displacement, land confiscation, house demolitions, imposition of the siege on the Gaza Strip, attacks on religious sites, arbitrary arrests, and violations inside the occupation prisons, which recently claimed the life of the Palestinian prisoner and leader, Khader Adnan. It will also highlight the suffering of Palestinian prisoners, who are subjected to assassination, beatings, torture, force-feeding, and deliberate medical neglect, which is the main cause of death for prisoners in recent years.
